This notice explains how MarineLearn Limited handles personal data in connection with marinelearn.org. It describes the site as it currently operates and is updated whenever that changes.
01 / This website
What the site itself does.
No analytics
We do not run analytics, tracking pixels or advertising technology on this site. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell or share data with advertisers.
No cookies for tracking
The site does not set cookies to identify or follow you. Your browser may store nothing at all from visiting these pages.
No third-party fonts or assets
Typefaces and images are served from our own domain. Loading a page here does not send a request to a third party, so no third party learns that you visited.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard technical information such as IP address, request time and page requested, for security and reliability. These logs are retained for a short period and are not used to identify individuals.

What we collect
When you email, call or submit an enquiry, we hold what you tell us: your name, your organisation, your contact details and the substance of your enquiry.
Why we hold it
To answer your enquiry, to prepare a proposal or quotation, and to administer any training we go on to deliver for you. We do not use enquiry details for unrelated marketing.
How long
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept only as long as they are commercially useful. Where we deliver training, learner and contract records are kept in line with our records policy and any legal or regulatory retention requirement.
Who sees it
MarineLearn personnel who need it to answer you or to deliver the work. We do not sell personal data. We share it with a third party only where we are legally required to, or where a service provider processes it on our behalf under contract.
03 / Learner data
If you train with us.
What a training record contains
Identity and attendance, assessment evidence and results, and the certificate issued. These are the records our quality system requires and a regulator may ask to inspect.
Security and traceability
Learner files are held securely and traceably. Record integrity is one of the indicators we measure.
Sponsored training
Where an employer or agency sponsors your place, we report attendance, completion and results to that sponsor, because that is what they are paying for. We tell you this at the point of enrolment.
Under the Data Protection Act 2019 you have rights over your personal data, including the right to be told what we hold, to ask for a correction, to ask for erasure where the law allows it, and to object to a particular use. To exercise any of them, or to complain about how we have handled your data, contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
This notice describes our current practice. If we add a form, an analytics tool or any other technology that changes what is collected, this page is updated before that change goes live.
